Shortly about education

In 2003 she graduated from Sofia University “St Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Physics, Bulgaria with a MSc degree in Meteorology. Her master’s thesis was “Creation and Testing of Self-normalising variants of TRAP scheme”. Since 2017 she has been a Ph.D. student at NIMH – BAS. She has experience in numerical weather prediction and air pollution modeling, numerical modeling of precipitation. She has participated in a number of projects with national and international funding and COST Action ES1004.

Professional career

Since 2010 she has been appointed physicist, since 2014 an assistant at NIMH, section “Modelling of Atmospheric pollution”, department Meteorology.

Research interests

Atmospheric boundary layer, numerical weather prediction models, dispersion of atmospheric pollutants in urban areas.

Digital competence

Good knowledge of software for visualization and data analysis (such as R, Gloden Software Grapher, NCL., GrADS), MS Office, and basic knowledge graphic design (Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw), WS Windows, Linux. Data processing and analysis of surface and radiosoundings measurements of meteorological elements.

Shortly about education

2005 graduated at 18th secondary school William Gladstone, class profile „Nature sciences and French language“. In 2009 obtained a BSc degree from the Faculty of Physics – Department of “Meteorology and Geophysics” in Sofia University “Saint Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria. 2011 MSc degree „Astronomy, Meteorology and Geophysics“, program „Meteorology“ with work „Variability of the wind as a climatological component at North-East Bulgaria“. In 2012 started Ph.D. in NIMH – BAS. The topic is related to the vertical profiles of meteorological elements in the atmosphere: „Planetary Boundary Layer in urban area upon aerological soundings and remote sensing of atmosphere data“.

Professional career

In 2010 started working in NIMH as a physicist, in 2011 became responsible for the Central Meteorological Station and the Central Aerological Observatory, from 2014 till now – head of meteorological network measurements in NIMH. Participant in EMS conference 2011 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018, ISARS 2016 / 2018 and several schools in climatology and remote sensing, COST Actions meetings, exchange in SIRTA, France.

Research interests

Aerological research of atmosphere, remote sensing of the atmosphere, PBL, climatology, organization of meteorological measurements and network, analysis of time series, big data files from measurements and models, polar meteorology, and meteorology on other planets.

Practical experience in the field of aerological soundings, surface measurements, large data time series analysis, climatology.

Theoretical knowledge on oceanology, synoptics, modelling meteorological processes, radar meteorology, air pollution.

Digital competence

Working with Linux and Windows data assimilation systems, main working OS – Linux.
